single-channel video with sound / 2016
The aural experience of day to day life is different for those on the autism spectrum. Everyday sounds can often become unbearable without isolation headphones or a safe place to retreat. Put on the isolation headphones to experience the world as a person with autism would without them.
An escalating soundscape is juxtaposed with single-channel video of an autistic man in his bedroom, encouraging audiences to reflect on the importance of safe spaces in an overstimulating world.
